Alumbo is very much a grass roots movement. We are a community oriented service, working with individuals and small organizations to make a difference in our lives and the lives of people around us. We are not a large company awash in venture funding. To allow us to continue to develop our mission and deliver a high level of service to our visitors and customers, we have to cover our operating costs which are not insignificant. Wherever we can, we use donated services and the efforts of good-hearted volunteers. However, there are some hard expenses such as computer servers and bandwidth, programming, graphic design, and so on. A small contribution from each visitor would help defray some of these costs and allow us to put our limited resources towards building a better online experience for everyone.
