You might WANT it, but can you HAVE it?

Wanting is not the same as having...

Summary:
A teacher once told me that "the energy of wanting is not the same as the energy of having". If you WANT something, by definition, you don't HAVE it. CAN you have it?

Life Notes from a Life Coach Want to transform your life? What's stopping you?

You may have a limiting belief that goes something like, "transforming my life is too hard. It'll take too long; it'll be too much work. I can't right now, I don't have the time/motivation/energy/resources...".

Well, here's a tip: Transforming your life (or any part of your life) is as simple and as effortless as you want it to be. What it takes is A SHIFT. A shift is defined in my dictionary as:
-A slight alteration of direction or position-
And this is my message to you: A slight shift in your direction or position is a HUGE leverage point for creating radical change. The inner shift catalyzes the outer transformation.

One of my marketing messages is: "I coach dynamic individuals to shift from struggle to success". This promise is based on the fact that success is available at the exact point where struggle ends. Success starts when struggle stops. The energy of struggle acts as a BLOCK for the success that you want! Let go of the struggle, and the success is yours.

There are innumerable strategies for making a shift. One excellent example is the shift from WANTING to HAVING:

During my 11 years of studying success and satisfaction, I've had a variety of experience-based courses and interesting teachers in this "Life University". One Teacher I studied with for three years taught me that "the energy of wanting is not the energy of having". By definition, when you WANT something, you don't HAVE it. How much time do you spend in a state of WANTING? Can you shift to the state of HAVING, even for a moment or two?

Try this (it works!): Take 5 or 10 minutes...In your mind's eye, picture what it is that you WANT so badly. Picture it in exact detail. Make the picture bright and lifelike. Make sure that you are in the picture! See yourself HAVING it. Notice how it feels. Enjoy HAVING it. Wallow in it! Really feel what it's like to HAVE what you want. You will have a big ol' grin on your face by this time, because HAVING feels a whole lot better than WANTING. See the difference?

The state of having (also called "havingness") is one of the tools for your shift from struggle to success. When you focus on the state of having, you automatically shift from the state of struggle. Tune in to your "picture of havingness" from the exercise above once, twice, or several times a day. REGULARILY EXPERIENCING THE STATE OF HAVINGNESS WILL TRANSFORM YOUR LIFE. Trust me, you will notice change in your life immediately.

Be open. Simply notice. Be grateful, 'cause it's yours for the having.

All the best,
Sarah
