Summary:
It was Yves Saint Laurent who's quoted as saying,"The most beautiful makeup of a woman is passion, but, cosmetics are easier to buy." The truth of the matter is; Women of a certain age have seemingly, forgotten the 'beauty' of their passion.

Women are oftentimes so caught up between a rock and a hard place in trying to juggle home, spouses, family and careers, that they forget that inside of them is a heart beating toward fulfilling their unrealized dream of becoming.

Safe in our comfort zone, we literally turn a deaf ear to silent whispers of discontent and distraction on a personal level.

We explain away these small utterances as slight periods of 'anxiety', or, we're just naturally going through 'the change.'

In reality women over forty are changing. We're changing mentally, physically and emotionally. Yet, there is an internal, at times, hard to keep at bey, need to contribute; give back to the world in some small way, by leaving something of ourselves in hopes of helping others.

It is when we actively seek to release this knawing inside of us, that women must be willing to explore, unleash, and share with the world and come to recognize the importance of their gift of passion.

Marilyn is a recipe bandit...she loves to watch cooking shows. She devours newspapers clippings of all kinds of delicious meals. She then, makes a list of all the ingredients she'll need before stopping off at the grocery store and rushing home to add her own spin to the mix. This 'babyboomer' told me that sometimes she's up until the wee hours of the morning, baking, tasting and testing out recipies; taking pleasure in feeding her neighbors, family and friends.

Marilyn has a passion, seemingly bordering on fanatical cooking, perhaps, in the eyes of those of us who can barely fry an egg! but, her heart's in the right place and it's obvious from our talks and the people who have been lucky enough to sample her dishes; cooking for others, makes this woman very, very, happy.

Passion is alive in all of us. Sometimes it's takes a bit of prodding to bring it forth. I'm a firm believer that every woman in the world should take time to cultivate that thing deep within themselves, outside of family/friends/work, that brings them immense joy.

Writing does it for me...It's a drug that have held me captive for many years. Reclaiming a passion that was somehow lost, has allowed me to regain my confidence.

This passion; this insidious craving leads me to believe that all is well and that what I have to offer; someone in this big ole world out there, thinks it's important and even useful.

What about you? Are you ready to unleash your passion to the world?
