Summary:
Because I am an advocate for women. I wanted to know what were in the minds and hearts of women.I posed the question to a small percentage of women in the workplace. Some allowed me to use their names and I will. Enjoy...

The opportunity to speak with several woman on the job about what it is that they're wanting for themselves, yielded some truly remarkable and inspiring words. I spoke with women in their 20's to 40's and beyond. Some single, some married, some divorced and entering their second phase of life. Yet, all, very well aware of what they wanted. I was given permission to use names by women who were 'overflowing' and ready to speak.

"My desire is to do what God's plan, purpose and will; for my life is his... command. 'Natural/Spiritual'. So ladies focus on the things of God and all needs and desires will be fulfilled. No good thing will be withholden from those people walking in his righteous...so whatever you need or desire, God is able to grant it to you." Ms. Nora Jean Williams.

'Women want respect and equality. We want the power to embrace any obstacle that is put in front of us. We want the strength and courage to help us through whatever life holds in store for us. We want peace of mind. Last, but not least; a kind, and loving man to stand by my side and share all that I have conquered. Cassandra

"Women want it all! They want happiness. They want a man who respects them and accepts them for who they wre. Honesty. The will to do whatever comes to mind, whether it's vacationing and some time for her. A woman just wants to be respected as the Black Queen that she is...

"Diamonds. Good man. A lot of money. A big house. A nice car. Good looks. Nice Job."

"Love. Respect. Happiness. Peace. We want something for ourselves;nice things...Some women want to look good.."

"I want to: Grow closer to God. Have a relationship with a good Godly man. Good health. Financial freedom and security. Good health, Peace and Prosperity for my children and family..."

"What women want out of life is to be respected and understood the same as a man. We are now becoming more powerful and strong as a man. We have the mind and the willpower to become successful just as quickly as men in this day and age. Not only are we a majority when it comes to being the head of a household, but, we women nuture and motivate our daughters to become successful women. I'm not saying that we can't follow our men. We can stand by him and be an even better backbone for our husbands..."

"I, as a woman would want peace, good health and happiness. To be stress free. To be married some day. I as a woman would like to have my own home and business. I as a woman, would like to continue being blessed by the good Lord with life."

These women gave me a glimpse into what it is that they're wanting in this Millennium. Some of their words were inspiring. Some poignant, a few whimsical, some witty, reflective, spiritual...Yet, all were indicative of how far women have come and how determined we are to get where we're wanting to go. That's sooo awesome...

Clara B. Freeman.
