Summary:
Another year is upon us. Most assuredly we will be celebrating another birthday.. Women, there's no need for dispair...Getting older, doesn't necessarily mean looking like last years 'wash and wear.' Remember, we're as old as we feel...Want to feel beautiful, inside and out? Here's how...

The month of January will bring about Winter's chill for many of us. And it's not all about the weather. We'll be gearing up to celebrate another year in the life...A birthday. I know that some women, like myself will take it all in stride, but, there are many of us in midlife who'll just want to stay in bed and pull the covers up to their necks in defiance. Honestly, I've been there. Where you're just not looking forward to another birthday. Well, I got news for you...Life is not a rose garden. You're a spiritual being, living a human existence. That means that we're all going to age. Now, it's up to us how we want to embark upon this aging journey..Do we come kicking and crying, or, do we float on a wave of calm onto a path filled with wonderment, wisdom, knowledge, self-love, self-acceptance and spiritual awakenings? I don't know about you, but, I chose the latter... Having said that, let me say this: Women we are beautiful. I was watching a program the other day where a newly divorced woman in transition had lost her confidence. She felt that she was no longer pretty. That because she'd been married and divorced twice, perhaps, love wouldn't come again... That lady was given a makeover. Nothing drastic. Nothing harsh, or demeaning to her age, but, she was encouraged to try a little botox around the mouth area, as needed. She then took inventory of her smile, something she'd neglected to do over the years. The woman was provided veeners for her discolored teeth... Me, I opt for regular dental cleaning and polishing. At home I use Crest White Strips and Crest Whitening Rinse because it's more affordable. I hate to exercise, but, walking to and from work helps to keep my heart pumping and the weight off. Eating foods rich in Calcium, Vitamin D, Vitamin C, Beta Carotene and Bioten, will not only help keep our smiles pretty, but, also keeps our skin flawless and a natural sheen to our hair. When we're not sure of what's good for us as we age, it helps to speak with a nutritionist, or, your primary physician when we have a chronic illness such as diabetes, or hypertension. A good rule of thumb I've learned since embarking upon this journey into midlife, is that; "Eating to live and not living to eat." is a wonderful mantra to refer to when the urge to over indulge creeps up on us. Needless to say, the woman who had a makeover did get a few things done to her that I personally wouldn't have done...The Retalin and Botox for her creases. But, she did regain her self-confidence. Truly, that's all that matters. I think though, that women of a certain age must learn that true beauty starts on the inside and only when we come to know and accept this certainty, then, The New Year of a New You, truly begins...
