The Rastafari Expression Greetings in the name of Jah Rastafari! My name is Lionsdaughter. I was born in the small city of Columbus Ohio, raised in one of the poorest neighborhoods in Columbus and I now live in Reynoldsburg, OH with my family. As a child my only experience in culture diversity was limited to people of Asian and Middle Eastern descent, which was few and far between. But now, Columbus has been experiencing a growth spurt in the population of immigrants from Mexico, Africa, the Middle East and the West Indies for at least the past 10 years. My friends, co-workers and neighbors now consist of all these various peoples and cultures.

I have a public high school education, vocational training in photography and some college in the arts. I work full-time as a processor at a distribution warehouse and have been working in warehouses for about 6 years.( Praying hard that Jah will lead me out of this environment.)

My heritage consists of Iroquois Indian and German and I'm married to a Jamaican. We have been together for 9 yrs and have produced two beautiful girls; Genesis and Cherub ages 4 and 3 who are less than a year apart. Our union does come across as strange or taboo to some strangers here in the community and around the outskirts of it, but this is a very common thing in both sides of the families.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com When I was a child, my mother sent me to a local Lutheran church, though she herself never attended and she never reinforced or help establish my relationship with God. I was soon baptized there under the guardianship of my Godmother. I went, not in faith, not as a believer, only because my Godmother came to pick me up EVERY Sunday and it was the only place where my Mother would let me go. Unfortunately, the cruelty of my peers, the abuse of adults and the hypocrisy I saw in the church only smothered any relationship I could have with God. Very early on I started turning towards pagan beliefs and witchcraft, to make sense of the world around me.....to gain some kind of control. But the more and more I got into spell books, tarot cards, horoscopes, astrology, divination, crystals and such. The more and more things just didn't get better....until I met my Kingsman. My Kingsman. Was born and raised in Jamaica and didn't come to the States till he was 16 yrs. old. He lived in New York with his family, finished High School there and even lived in England for a spell. For a while, he did some traveling with some friends and eventually ended up here in Columbus.....where he then met me. He didn't know of my beliefs right off the back, nor did I, his. But we learned this quickly about each other. My Kingsman never came across preachy to me, never insulted or burn fire upon me for my pagan ideas. He let his righteousness speak for itself, challenge me to read The Word if I didn't believe what he was saying about the symbolism, the prophecies and Jah Rastafari...........and he left it like that. Soon thereafter, I dusted off my old Bible opened it to Revelation and began reading. This time (I have read Revelation before) was the first time I actually understood it and that's when things started to make sense, that's when my eyes started to open.
