Summary:
INI in Alumbo! are honoured to present to di I Sistren Cherrelle Shonte Richardson, from Philadelphia. Here the Sistren acKNOWledges her walk wid in Rastafari. The advantages of being young an new in this walk, is the zeal and zest for teaching what she has learned from her experiences as a youth; a YOUNG AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMAN, in the midst of wikked Babylon, trodding wid Jah!

The Rastafari Expression Image hosted by Photobucket.com Sistren Cherrelle Shonte Richardson is 19 years old. An African American female who is currently seeking college. Specifically, the sistren has expressed a desire to go to school but acknowledges that it is hard to get in. It leaves one wondering if that difficulty lies within the work, or the finances, a bleak reality that all of INI youth have to face.

The sistren is working in a zoo which she terms animal prison. She told I that she dislikes the job. A reminder too, for our youth, that the alternatives to college are not always easy, and that is why INI parents an guardians must always encourage the youth. Our Sistren has a King and they have been together only a short while. The beauty of this relationship is that both are seeking Rastafari and both are learning together. Although both are learning, the sistren's Kingman is from Jamaica and has done much for this sistren, to encourage her to recognize her African Roots and told her about Rastafari and King Selassie I. Sis Cherrelle Shonte told me that she has never found a religion that she felt called to follow, but always Knew Jah.

Rastafari has been the guiding force behind her changes she is making. She says she knows the lifestyle requires her to make some conscious changes in her life, and this sistren is ready. Changing her life and getting on board a good path toward Jah Love is her desire now. She knows how many of today's youth are caught up in corruption of society. Regardless of who is with her, our Sistren is not going down that road, and is all about encouraging her Bredrin and Sistren who may be loosing themselves in this dangerous world INI are living in.

The young Sistren Cherrelle knows the lure of todays fashion, especially for young Sistren. One just has to watch a little bit of MTV, or any music Videos, and take in just what our youth are exposed to. Clothes are revealing, attitudes are uncaring, this is afterall the generation of the millennium. Sistren Cherelle had all the perms, and the piercings, but eventually overstood that her natural beauty was beyond sufficient and that if anything, the false-ity of vanity was fading her ILafull Spirit and she begun to overstand how she no longer needed vanity to make her more beautiful. Large OVERstanding from this 19 year old sistren!!

One common denominator I have found amongst Rastafari people is their disdain for injustice. Politicks cyaa pull any thing over our eyes. We tend to move away from politricks. This sister makes it clear she is much more into finding the love, joy and freedom out of this corrupt world. Reminding her sistren and bredrin that she too was a part of the societal traps, she is now practicing freedom! She spends her time now being conscious. Listening to conscious music, reading about Ethiopia and Africa and learning all she can about her Kulcha. She is coming to lead the life known as Rastafari.

Sistren Cherrelle is a young, energetic sistren, who is an encouragement to people her own age. She admits she has nuff to learn and is open and willing to learn, but has found that to compromise her self is just not an option any longer. It is not about Herb, not about her Kingman, nor about Religion. It is about her REALationship with her God and King, Jah.
