Interview of a Rastafari Bredrin from Kenya -part 3Gebre Medhin Samuel speaks!A regular column by Kaya I IsesaJah, Sep 20, 2005
KI. Can Rastafari see ‘Religious tolerance” since Selassie taught Ini to never question a next mans faith? GM. I believe the Kings comment was inspired by the fact that Christianity and Islam have to live side by side especially in Ethiopia. It is true that one should also never question another mans faith as each man is free to express his spirituality as he chooses. However bearing in mind that a house divided cannot stand it lends to reason that as Rastafari InI have to profess one faith in the Godhead. KI. Can Rastafari accept the idea that there are ones who sight up Yashua as the Savior in the I opinion? What is the difference between the ‘blue eyed demon deception of Yushua and who is Yahua versus Jesus? GM. The King followed and loved Yuhshua who is the same as Eyesus (Jesus) the Christ i.e. Savior. Anyone following Him as the King does cannot be doing anything wrong unless the King is wrong also. The “blue eyed demon as you call him is the false representation of the Christ that was preached to Africans as another form of control by the system. KI. A Rastafari sisters able to wear pants in the I’s view? What about wrapping her locks? GM. The wearing of pants amongst Rastafari sistrens is a controversial thing created by InI. It is true that the bible says that a man should not wear that which pertaineth to the woman and vice versa. However the wearing of pants designed for a woman can be viewed as an added form of protection if worn in a modest manner. The covering of ones locks should be maintained not only by the sistren but also the bredrens if the locks signify for that person the consecration of the Godhead upon his/her head. KI. For those who do not follow the Nazarite laws, in your opinion will they see Zion? GM. My understanding of the Nazarite laws is to separate oneself unto the Lord until the fulfillment of that vow. In that sense they do not take a wife or husband or have children. They should live somewhat like the Betawie of Ethiopia and in doing so to its fullest one may enter Zion. However to live such a life in the West and within the Babylon system is difficult if not impossible. The important thing to enter the Gates of Zion is to ensure Salvation and that can only be achieved by following the example of the savior and doing his will.
KI. What are the requirements to achieve Zion? GM. To repent and be baptized. Love the Lord with all your heart and soul. Love your brothers as yourself, feed the hungry, cloth the naked, nourish the sick, care for the infants and protect the aged, be married according to the Bible and partake of the blessed sacraments. KI. In your opinion what happens to ones when they are no longer present on this plane. GM. They go to a place of abode until the day of the resurrection when everyone will be judged according to his works. The righteous will go on the right hand side of the Father and the unrighteous will go to the left, which is a place of torment. KI. Do you feel that Selassie is still physically alive on the physical plane of this earth? If not, Do you acknowledge his funeral, which was held in Ethiopia? GM. If the King is mortal like other men then the likelihood is that he is no longer here with us in the flesh. On the other hand there are mortal men like Elijah who was transfigured and taken up. As there was never any concrete evidence that the bones which was found and claimed to be that of the King was never proven forensically, I am not in a position to comment, but for I the spirit of the King lives on and reigns in the heart of InI. The evidence suggests that He is no longer here in the flesh otherwise InI would have concrete evidence of His whereabouts I am sure.
