Summary:
How do you start a business? See how Jen Boschenko was able to start several dozen successfull businesses in a short period of time.

Once you've decided on the kind of business you're going to start, you will need a business plan. Deciding on the kind of business you want to start, may be a very simple decision for the entrepreneur who has determined exactly what they want out of life. But for many of us, it can take years to determine exactly what kind of business we want, and to what level we want to operate this business.

Do we want a small business, with only a few employees, or do we entertain the idea of a large corporation, with hundreds of employees? When you have put together the business plan, you're going to need to determine how much capital will be necessary to start your business. Do you have enough capital to start the business, and operate it without income for about three months? Most often the answer is no. Very few individuals possess that kind of cash reserves. If the answer to the above question was yes, you've got more money than most, and you can stop reading here. But for the remaining 90% of the population, locating funding for your business is a huge part of the process.

Many banks, working with the Small Business Association will provide funding, if you can receive approval through the SBA. In other situations, if you have access to collateral that can be used to secure the funding many banks will skip the SBA process, in favor of a much easier and faster route to providing the funding.

Quite often, if you have extensive experience in the area you've chosen to start a business in, the business building, land, and other assets will stand good for the loan. This is generally not an option, however, if you lack experience. Good credit is a must, as is a good business plan. With proper attention to detail, experience, and all other things such as credit being in order, you should have not trouble finding a lending institution that will provide the startup loan.
