INI Community Roots Library!

Summary:
If you are surprised about INI community having a African Roots Library available to all of the community here in Poughkeepsie New York, I OVERSTAND. When was the last time you found a Center, within a Center, that was truly Upfull and Positive, benefitting the Community at large and the Rastafari Community, the Moslem Community, the Christian Community, and the Jewish Community, all under one roof? Even the PanAfrican Atheist (is there such a person?) would find the TRUEBRARY and its Research Center a Blessing!
 
INI Community Roots Library! INI Roots Library in Poughkeepsie New York is an inspiring, irative safe haven for those of the Afrikan Mindset. We have new programs for Youth, new programs for Adults, and the Blessing of a Staff of Iducated and KNOWledgeable Idrens an Sistrens with expertise in a wide variety of areas.

The Sadie Peterson Delaney African Roots Library is a grassroots initiative and true to their vision the Library acknowledges the mulitfaceted nature of acquiring and celebrating knowledge. Brother Odell wants to honor and encourage knowledge and history through all the avenues at hand, oral history, spoken word, paintings, cultural artifacts and other forms of artistic expression. What a relief to find a Center where diverse cultural roots are RASPECKTED AND REPRESENTED!!

Allthough many of you will not be able to visit INI right now at the center, the door is open and we encourage you to visit if you do have the chance. The Sadie Peterson Delaney African Roots Library is located in Poughkeepsie, New York. We would love to be able to share Istory and Culture with You. INI have a wonderful collection of books, videos and programming. We have a computer center and our plans are to develop a fully functional adult research center.

Our Roots Library Mission Statement is as follows: to collaborate with other community organizations to establish a library/center that will promote literacy, through the teaching and learning about the African Experience, including the History and Culture, and by the dynamic exchange of information, ideas and creativity.

The Iration of the Sadie Peterson Delaney African Roots Library has been initiated by the efforts of the Library Action Committee consisting of representatives of various organizations who feel that the establishment of such a space will benefit the members of the community that they serve.

We want to serve you and be your voice. Do you have Ideas, or want to make any suggestions? Would you like to discuss possible programs and events you would like to see? If so, please get in touch with the Library at your earliest conveinence. Rasta this is your chance to help 1 community change things. Starting with 1 community, the KNOWledge spreads. We want you to become active in your community too, and we are sure that by involving yourself in your community, you strengthen the Roots.
